I hate mornings, I just don’t do them. You don’t think about me and instantly think early bird, it just isn’t a thing. However whenever I get up later I always think of how much of the day I have already wasted, it sucks. So I have picked out a few things that have helped me kick start my morning.

1. Get Enough Sleep

This seems like such a simple one, but honestly how many of us will stay up late as we can’t stop binge watching our favourite show? Or we have found something too interesting to read? Seems like a great idea until you struggle to get up the next day! Everyone is different but I do best on about 8 hours of sleep, if I don’t get enough I feel awful but too much and I will still feel horribly tired!

2. Get An Alarm Set

If you’re anything like me then you can’t just rely on your internal body clock getting you up. You also can’t expect just any alarm to get you up! I wrote a review about this app called Alarmy that you can read about here, still the best thing to get me out of bed early!

3. Drink Water

As soon as you get up! I like to try and drink a glass of water before I make myself a tea or coffee, you’ll be super dehydrated from not drinking anything all night and it really helps wake you up and start your day off in a good place.

4. Breakfast

You know that thing your parents would always bang on about but you didn’t see the point? Yeah, it’s super helpful! Not only can you plan a really tasty breakfast the night before to get you out of bed on more difficult days but it also boosts your energy levels! I never used to get that hungry when I woke up so I would just skip it, however I would feel so tired. It wasn’t until I started forcing myself to eat breakfast I started to really feel the difference! Plus my body started to wake up hungry, it begins to demand food!

5. Give Yourself Some Me Time

Getting up a little earlier means you can spend some time just listening to music, catching up on all your social media, reading, whatever it is that you want to do! It’s horrible if you have to get up and rush about, so make sure you give yourself a little you time!
